Dave Portnoy has never been the type of man to lie down when attacked. If you go after Portnoy, you better be ready for the fight of your life. Usually, these fights are settled on the internet, but that is not the case this time around. After Business Insider published a large piece accusing Portnoy of sexual misconduct, Portnoy has now officially filed a lawsuit against Business Insider.

The Portnoy vs Business Insider situation has been going on for months. At first, it was hard to make any sense of the matter because we knew so little surrounding the entire situation. But Portnoy previously hinted that another hit piece was coming and began threatening Business Insider with a lawsuit.

Drop The Gavel

Now it seems Dave Portnoy is ready to drop the hammer. Portnoy is an excellent arguer and honestly could probably represent himself in court, although I’m not sure that has ever been a smart decision by people. Besides, Portnoy has the money to hire a great lawyer.

I am no lawyer myself, so I can not speak on the legality of this case, but the court of public opinion is strong. Portnoy has a large following on Twitter and tons of supporters in the media world. He continues to have a Twitter feud with ESPN personality Mina Kimes over her tweeting in support of the alleged victims of Portnoy, and man did the stoolies (followers of Barstool Sports) go on the attack. Portnoy has the edge with the public, but we will have to wait and see how things pan out in an actual courtroom.
