ESPN will premier a new 30 for 30 tonight that features former Mets greats Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden. Baseball of course back in the 80’s was a bit more colorful during the days of Strawberry that would have gotten him plunked more often in today’s game. During a Thursday morning on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio, Strawberry admitted to having some extracurricular activities in the clubhouse during games.
“Between innings. It worked out well just how crazy it was,” Strawberry added. “It kind of worked out that way. You point (a woman) out and tell the kid (to go get her).”
By kid he meant clubhouse attendant or bat boy. Strawberry also mentions drinking and smoking cigs but that isn’t something to surprising considering the decade. In reality this can’t be really that surprising to people as times were much different back then. In reality there are a lot of things that go on inside the clubhouse that we will never truly know what happened.
