D’Andre Swift Will Be A Stud in 2021 Fantasy Football

D’Andre Swift had a very good rookie year on a bad Lions team. The former Georgia Bulldog was super productive in both the pass and rushing attack. Swift managed to rush for over 500 yards and added 300 receiving yards despite the bumbling idiot that is Matt Patricia being the head coach for 11 games. The Lions may have downgraded at quarterback when they sent Matt Stafford to the Rams for Jared Goff, but that might benefit Swift’s fantasy production.

The Lions look to be turning things around in Detroit. They hired Dan Campbell as their head coach, Brad Holmes seems to know what he is doing as the GM, and they had themselves a solid 2021 draft. I may be a Patriots fan, but I am rooting for the Lions this year, and so should you.

Now back to D’Andre Swift. Swift’s 2020 stats were pretty damn good for a rookie. He rushed for 521 yards and eight touchdowns and added 46 receptions, 357 receiving yards, and two more touchdowns through the air. Swift was able to put together that season despite 36-year old Adrian Peterson getting 156 carries. The good news for Swift is that Peterson is a free agent, and a return to Detriot does not look to be happening anytime soon.

The Lions have put together a formidable offensive line. One that includes rookie Penei Sewell, Frank Ragnow, and Taylor Decker. PFF has this offensive line ranked #10 going into the 2021 season, but they could finish a lot higher than 10.

Finally, this Lions’ receiving and tight end group is not that good. Other than T.J. Hockenson, I don’t see any receivers having a huge season. Pair that with a downgraded quarterback in Jared Goff and a solid offensive line, and this offense is going to be predicated on the run game.

Swift finished as the RB18 in PPR leagues. I think he is a no-brainer as your RB2 for 2021. The Lions brought in Jamaal Williams in free agency, but Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson are no longer on the team. Swift is poised for a huge 2021 season.
