Damian Lillard Is Finally Getting The Respect He Deserves

The NBA media and fan base has to be the dumbest of any of the 4 major sports. They decided that cancer Russell Westbrook was an MVP, despite the fact that he can’t shoot, shoots too much, and makes terrible decisions. Giving Westbrook the MVP only enabled him to keep playing the terrible style of basketball that he’s played for the past decade. While much of the attention went toward Westbrook during the 2019 NBA Playoffs, Damian Lillard was always the 5-course meal at the table. Now he’s finally getting the respect he deserves.

The media went into this series trying to start the narrative that Russell Westbrook and Damian Lillard were going to go toe to toe. The only person that Westbrook goes to battle with is his small brain. Westbrook is his own worst enemy. Shooting 36 percent is one thing. To take 22 shots per game on top of shooting 36 percent is what makes him a cancer.

Lillard is one of the 3 or 4 best point guards in the NBA. Westbrook doesn’t make the top 50 point guards because of his style. There’s a lot to love about Lillard. The former Weber State point guard is scorer, playmaker, shooter, and most of all – has big nuts.

Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports details in a must-read piece on Lillard dropping the mic on OKC.

And what came out of Westbrook’s mouth during a few of his post-basket outbursts was the B-word, something most players wouldn’t dismiss without an altercation.

“The way I see it, it’s basketball,” Lillard told Yahoo Sports. “I know I ain’t no b—–ass mother——; so it doesn’t bother me. If they think I am, then we can take it off the court and find out for sure.

“I’m not out here to prove to these dudes that I’m the hardest mother—— in the league because they cussed at me on the court. But they know where I’m from and what I’m about. This Oakland. But I don’t take s— personal. My goal is to get the win.”

“I’m going to get the last laugh,” he said. “I promise you that.”

Lillard didn’t just outplay Westbrook. He made Westbrook his bitch. He waved the coward off the court and played the game the right way. He also shot the ultimate dagger from 40 feet to close out the series.

Dame is exactly what every championship team needs out of it’s point guard. You no longer can win in the NBA without elite shooting. Lillard isn’t just a great shooter. Dame is an elite one. He converted 8 of 12 shots from 30 feet or further out. Portland didn’t have the better talent on the floor. They just had the best player instead and that was Lillard. It’s about time Damian Lillard is getting the respect he deserves. It was a long time coming.
