Good news for the Buffalo Bills as safety Damar Hamlin has been cleared to resume football activities, Bills general manager Brandon Beane announced Tuesday.
Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on January 2, 2023, the moment the NFL world stopped. Hamlin was admitted to a hospital and underwent successful medical procedures to address the issue that night. Buffalo has been closely monitoring his recovery. Now, Hamlin is able to join his teammates for off-season workouts.
Hamlin, who played a significant role on defense before the injury, is now looking forward to making up for lost time and contributing to the team’s success. In a recent interview, he expressed gratitude for the support he has received from his teammates and the Bills organization throughout his recovery process.
“This event was life-changing, but it’s not the end of my story,” Hamlin said during a press conference.
The Bills also expressed their excitement at having Hamlin back on the field. Head coach Sean McDermott praised the young safety’s work ethic and determination. McDermott noted that he has already made an impact on the team despite being a rookie last season.
“Damar is a talented young player with a bright future in this league,” McDermott said. “We’re thrilled to have him back with the team and look forward to seeing him continue to grow and develop as a player.”
Hamlin’s return to the field is a testament to his hard work and determination. What can’t be forgotten is the skill and expertise of the medical professionals who treated him. The injury was terrifying for everyone who watched on that fateful night, but everyone is eager to see Hamlin again.
As the Bills continue their offseason preparations, Hamlin’s return to the field is sure to provide a boost to the team’s defense. Fans will be eagerly watching to see how he performs in the upcoming season and beyond.
