Crumbl’s New Jarring Menu Item: Savory Hand Pies
Crumbl has been a controversial cookie place for a while now.
Although it has great popularity, customers aren’t always satisfied. People complain that the cookies taste stale or plastic-y, however, others rave about their rotating cookie flavors of the week and enjoy partaking in trying each one. Crumbl has cookies that are just okay, which leads me to believe their new savory hand pies would be the same.
As of Oct. 16, Crumbl released a jarring new menu item: Savory hand pies. People with a salty tooth are gifted with a new salty treat to snack on when their sweet tooth friends are hungry. I was personally very excited to hear about these as I love a good salty snack.
These hand pies come in many different flavors. There’s shepherd’s pie, pizza, BBQ mac n cheese, chicken pot pie, bacon and egg, ham and cheesy potato, sweet pork, sausage breakfast and chicken cordon bleu. They range from simple to more complex; ones such as shepherd’s pie and chicken pot pie seem like a staple flavor to have for a hand pie.
However, ones such as chicken cordon bleu are on the more complex side and are more likely to be a hit or miss.
These hand pies have definitely been controversial. They’re getting a lot of mixed reviews from TikTokers and other social media platforms. It’s bold for a cookie place to introduce something savory. Although they’ve been controversial, I still think these will be here to stay. Just like Levain Bakery in NYC, they’ve added a savory menu item to please those who don’t have a sweet tooth. I’m definitely excited to try these savory pies when they come to my area!
