2023 NFL Season: Week 8 Overreactions

We are roughly halfway through the 2023 NFL Season. It’s time to blow every little result completely out of proportion! Here are our Week 8 overreactions!

Trey Daubert:

Don’t count out the Bengals.

Cincinnati controlled that game from start to finish. Joe Burrow looks healthy and this offense is starting to hum. They’re very much in the Super Bowl bubble despite the fact that they started slow.

Jack Sabin:

The entire Titans organization should get slapped in the face for letting Ryan Tannehill start six straight NFL games.

It wasn’t a good idea going into the season and should have been painfully obvious after one game. Then to top it off, Will Levis comes in and brings this offense to a level it hasn’t seen in years. I don’t what they saw in Tannehill but whatever it was should get them all slapped.

Juulian:

Jets would be Super Bowl contenders with Rodgers and if MetLife had grass

James Herrick:

Will Levis deserves respect.

The dialogue regarding Will Levis got wild in the offseason. While he was not an outstanding prospect, many people completely wrote off Levis’ chances of being an NFL quarterback. In his first NFL action, he went 19 for 29 while throwing for 238 yards and four touchdowns. I am not suggesting that will be a weekly occurrence, but he clearly has more of a chance to make it to the NFL than people were willing to admit before the season started. For the sake of transparency, I’ll admit that his first start outperformed my expectations.

Matt Hanifan:

The Giants-Jets game will be the worst game of 2023.

There were more combined punts (24) than points (23). Need I say more? The collective quarterback stock in the NFL is … not good. At all.
