Ladies and gentlemen, the 2022 NFL season is finally here. We have made it. One of the greatest times of the year is upon us, and with it comes the hopeful nature of teams competing for a Super Bowl or tanking for the first overall pick. But it’s not just the sport that makes the NFL season so captivating. It is the side games of fantasy and gambling that can make or break a fan’s experience.
To relax your mind, I have made this comprehensive guide on whom you should put your shekels on to win. We will be covering lots of futures, division winners, making or missing the playoffs, etc. So strap in and make sure to save this post, so you have something to look back at later as the season goes along. Let’s take a look at the complete betting guide for the 2022 NFL season.
Starting out the division winners with an easy one. Not much to explain here. The Bills might be one of the best teams in all the NFL and are early title favorites. Ride with Josh Allen and crew all day.
People talk about Super Bowl hangovers, but I think the Bengals have built a division winner. The Ravens are a mess, Mike Tomlin might have his first losing season, and Watson is probably going to be suspended a full year. It may not be the case next season, but for 2022, count on Joe Shiesty to pull it out.
The Colts are the clear favorites to win the division, but Jacksonville at +700 is so tempting that I had to put down a small bet on that also. The Texans will compete, but their record will be bad, and I have honestly no idea what to make of Tennessee. The Colts have consistency all around and can maybe have another aged quarterback in Matt Ryan carry them to the playoffs.
This division is a nightmare. First and fourth place might be decided by 2 games. The Broncos get the edge because their schedule is a little easier than everyone else. Whoever you place your bet on in this division, you have a good chance to win.
Despite a tempting +500 for the Washington Commanders, the Eagles are the best bet to win the east. The Cowboys SHOULD win the division, but Mike McCarthy is their head coach so I don’t trust Dallas to get the job done. In a bad division, the winner is determined by coaching. Nick Sirianni showed last season he has what it takes to coach and will bring the division title back to Philadelphia.
This might be one of my most confident bets. The Vikings would be talked about differently if Kirk Cousins wasn’t their quarterback. The Packers are as vulnerable as they have ever been and a rebuild looms on the horizon. Detriot will be fun but will not win the division, and the Bears will be lucky to win 4 games. Put your money on Minnesota.
Might be a moon shot, but I’m going to take it. The Bucs lost some key pieces on the offensive line and the running back room is looking a little thin (except for Leonard Fournette apparently). Some might think New Orleans will take a step back after losing Sean Payton, but Dennis Allen has been a part of that coaching staff for years. A healthy Jamis Winston and Michael Thomas could be a deadly combo. All these factors make the Saints a low-risk/high-reward type bet.
Seems odd that the Rams are not clear favorites to win the west. Stafford is experiencing some issues with his arm, but he should be good to go come the regular season. The second-best odds are the 49ers at +165, but I’m just not sure what they will look like. History also tells us that come November, many key 49ers players will be injured. The Rams are Super Bowl champs for a reason and will handle their division.
Now, when I initially made my bet it was +100 for the Vikings to make the playoffs. But if I believe they win the division, then obviously I believe they make the playoffs. It’s still good odds to make money if you place this bet now.
The AFC is going to be a bloodbath. Miami has gotten better on the offensive side of the ball, and I believe Tua has what it takes to start in the NFL. The O-Line still stinks, but it won’t be last like it was the previous two years. If Miami can start 2-2, then all their games through December have very few playoff teams. They also play the Jets twice, so bank on Miami getting a wild card spot.
Reuniting Adams with Carr was an amazing move. I truly think the Raiders will compete for the AFC West and in the process make the playoffs regardless. Don’t sleep on the Raiders this season.
Even Vegas is leaning to agree with me. The media is really hyping up Mac Jones and the Patriots, but I don’t see the hype. Jones was not impressive last season, and have no idea how he made the Pro Bowl. Nothing about this Patriots team is impressive, and they will be lucky to finish over .500.
What if I told you I believe only one team from the NFC North was getting into the playoffs? I’ve already said the Packers are vulnerable, and I think they’re even more vulnerable than everyone might think.
From here on out, I will just be listing the bets.
