The Cleveland Cavaliers have struggled to find their stride since the days of LeBron. Here is the 2021 Season Preview:

Key Additions: Javale McGee, Isaac Okoro, Thon Maker

The Biggest addition here is Isaac Okoro, the Cavaliers draft selection with the 5th overall pick this year. At Auburn, Okoro averaged 12.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Okoro will fit in nicely with both Darius Garland and Collin Sexton.

While Javale McGee will bring in some veteran leadership as well as a championship pedigree.

Key Losses: Tristan Thompson, Ante Zizic, Jordan Bell, and Alfonzo McKinnie

Not a whole lot was lost here, but the Cavaliers will miss the tenacious rebounding of Tristan Thompson. But McGee can replace the production that both Zizic and Thompson provided.

Projected Team Depth Chart

PG: Darius Garland, Collin Sexton, Matthew Dellavedova

SG: Isaac Okoro, Dante Exum, Dylan Windler, Matt Mooney

SF: Cedi Osman, Kevin Porter Jr., Dean Wade, Damyean Dotson

PF: Kevin Love, Larry Nance Jr., Marques Bolden

C: Andre Drummond, Javale McGee, Thon Maker

Okoro replaces Sexton here as the Starting SG, making Sexton come off the bench will provide a lot of offense. This lineup will also feature Cedi Osman, Kevin Love, and Andre Drummond. Osman and Love have both won rings with the franchise.

Both the starting rotation and second unit are pretty solid. Head Coach JB Bickerstaff would be a fool if he didn’t use this lineup this year.

While Sexton and Garland are both good offensively, Okoro is a better defender than both as well as Exum. So they can both help the other.

Season Outlook

Where will the Cleveland Cavaliers finish this season? Will they make the playoffs? Can Kevin Love stay healthy? Will Love be traded to a contending team? Did the Cavs complete their offseason needs?

The Cavaliers could be projected as high as the eighth seed. Which is heading in the right direction for them.

Although, in order to make a deep run, they will need another year of being a lottery pick. They are actually projected to have the number two overall pick. With that pick, they are projected to take Jalen Green.

However, it is way too early to know where a team might land in terms of the draft.
