Class of ’22 Four-Star Noah Clowney Commits to Alabama

Class of 2022 four-star forward Noah Clowney has committed to Alabama, per an announcement on CBS Sports HQ. Clowney, the No. 62 ranked player in the 247Sports Composite, chose Alabama over Indiana and Virginia Tech.

The 6-9 power forward is coach Nate Oats’ second pledge of the day, following the commitment of five-star wing Brandon Miller Monday afternoon. Five-star point guard Jaden Bradley joins the pair of forwards in what is shaping up to be an elite class in Tuscaloosa next season.

The Roebuck, South Carolina native said the Crimson Tide’s style of play will fit his game well, he told 247Sports.

“I really like the play-style, I think I fit into it well. I just trust they’re going to develop me how I need to be developed. I think I can showcase a lot in the offense for me to get to the next level. It’s a great place.”

On what he brings to Alabama, Clowney had this to say to 247Sports:

“I think I am going in and making an impact from day one. I think I just got that dog instilled in me from always being unranked until about six months ago. I think I’m going in on day one and making an impact and I am going to do everything I can. It’s going to be earned but I am going to make an impact from day one.”

Clowney has all the tools to be a productive stretch-four at the collegiate level. He can knock down an occasional three, but his shot is still a work in progress. He possesses good length and makes a living on straight line rim runs to the basket, often capping off that effort with a dunk. He can finish through contact, but I would like to see him develop his off-hand more. He offered viable rim protection on the AAU circuit last summer and does have the physicality to be a good two-way threat for Oats.
