Buy Low Sell High Fantasy Football 2022 Week 8

If you followed last week’s buy low sell high list, you would’ve gotten Amari Cooper, who exploded for over 100 yards and a touchdown. Not only that, but you would’ve sold Michael Pittman Jr. before a pedestrian performance against a bad Washington secondary. Let it be known I’m still saying Najee Harris is a buy low (in redraft leagues) as I think the Steelers offense will have better days coming out of their bye week. Hopefully, my fantasy football 2022 buy/sell picks this week work out as well as they did last week.

Buy Low

D’Andre Swift

D’Andre Swift owners have been waiting since Week 3 for Swift to return from injury. The RB1 they expectedly drafted did come back and seemingly flopped with 11.8 points. Swift’s volume was definitely concerning as he got just five carries and had two touchdowns vultured by Jamaal Williams who had 10 carries. However, the game script was a weird one as the Lions were up early against the Dolphins and they went through Williams on the ground. I don’t think Detroit will be up early ever again this season. Swift is still the electric pass-catcher that will be relied on when the Lions are playing from behind. He will finish strong to end the year, go get him now.

Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas is a name I’m sure no one wants to add to their fantasy team. After missing all of last season and seeing the field just three times this season, health is an obvious concern. However, you can get Thomas for literal pennies on the dollar right now (I got him for Brian Robinson Jr. last week). Thomas is a stud when he plays, there’s no denying it thus far. To start the year, he wasn’t playing 100% of snaps and still came up with three touchdowns in his two healthy games. Not only that but he was peppered with targets as well. Alvin Kamara did it all on his own last week, but with Thomas coming back, expect those touchdowns to come through him.

Sell High

Dameon Pierce

I love Dameon Pierce. Don’t get it twisted. The story of a fourth-round rookie finding immediate success on one of the worst teams in the NFL is special, to say the least. He’s a hard-running tackle-breaking machine who can turn something out of nothing behind a lackluster Texans offensive line. While Houston has found a diamond in the rough, they haven’t been any better than expected. That means the game script will be constantly going away from Pierce and toward their third-down passing backs like Rex Burkhead.

This past week against the Titans, Pierce was lucky to find paydirt in the final minute of the game and salvage an otherwise horrid fantasy outing. Before that, Pierce had just 25 yards on 15 carries on the day. I’m not saying to sell him for pennies. He is still a high-end RB2, but he doesn’t have the same ability to blow up any given week as other running backs do — especially with his upcoming schedule consisting of the Eagles and the Giants. I’d sell him now to a running back needy team for a Mike Evans or a receiver of that caliber.

Leonard Fournette

The Buccaneers look like a mess. Not only that, but the backfield might be shifting away from Leonard Fournette, too. The rushing splits between rookie Rachaad White and Fournette have been sporadic. One week Fournette will receive 80% of the snaps, the next he’ll get just 60% and White will capitalize. We’ve seen rookies in the past get more work after the team’s bye week as they get more acclimated to the NFL. Well with Tampa Bay’s Week 11 bye, I’d sell Fournette before then if you can. White looks shifty and quick with the ball in his hands and has averaged more yards per carry than Fournette three weeks in a row.

Trading this year in fantasy football 2022 can make or break your season. Suppose you can take advantage of when to buy low or sell high on a player. In that case, you’ll be giving yourself a significantly better advantage as the season progresses, ideally to a fantasy football championship.
