Baker Mayfield More Than Excited to Play Browns: “I’m Gonna F*** Them Up”

Baker Mayfield More Than Excited to Play Browns: “I’m Gonna F*** Them Up”

In a recent episode of the Around The NFL Podcast, around 40 minutes into the show, Cynthia Frelund described a post-game interaction she had with the now Carolina Panthers quarterback after their final preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. During the exchange with some colorful language, Frelund expressed her excitement for the season, especially to see Baker take on his former team and that’s when Baker replied with the great quote, “I’m gonna f*** them up.”

Now, this was not a formal interview, press conference, or feature for a story, it was probably just supposed to be a quick exchange between friendly people and Mayfield let the excitement loose. He hasn’t said anything to be a problem or distraction for Carolina and this doesn’t change that. He’s just a guy who’s ready to get some payback on the people who wronged him, and I hope he does, and not just because I’m a Steelers fan.

He has been keeping his head down this entire offseason, winning a quarterback battle, being doubted, and turned into an underdog again. He’s ready to blowtorch the Cleveland Browns, he’s ready to prove that organization wrong for tossing him to the side after he brought the Browns back to the playoffs and won a playoff game for the first time in what feels like forever. Mayfield has become a likable guy, he got screwed and if there’s one thing to get people to like someone it’s them getting absolutely screwed over.

Baker Mayfield might play like the best quarterback in the NFL in Week 1. Granted it’ll probably only be Week 1, but that’s all we need to see.
