Ah, yes, it’s the drop queen, Arian Smith. We’re going to have a much needed chat on the Georgia wide receiver. Without further ado, here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on Smith.

If you read the stock notes ^ you will notice the same theme over and over again. Georgia led the nation with 31 dropped passes this season. Guess what… Smith had ten of them by himself on just 72 targets. That’s a real number too. You can question me all you want but I wouldn’t lie about a stat just to push a narrative. Nobody had more drops this season in the entire sport.

In fact, we did the Kyren Lacy draft profile not long ago. He was tied for third in the country with six drops. Even that is significantly fewer than what Smith had. Nobody had more than seven other than Smith.

Smith, 23, was a former four star recruit out of the state of Florida. The Bradley, Florida native checks in at 6-foot, 179. The drop issues didn’t necessarily translate to the Combine where he put up a 4.36 – 40 time with great leaping numbers. He’s a speed demon. You have to give him that. He just can’t really do anything else beyond run fast. From 2020-2023 he failed to crack double-digit receptions in any season.

It took him forever to prove he was a real football. Prior to this year, he was a gadget guy who touched the ball on trick plays. Georgia was so down at receiver he worked more into the rotation and made a real difference. Well, when he actually caught it. Smith reeled in receptions for 817 yards and four scores.

The guy is a pure home run hitter at his core. The former Georgia product averaged 36.5 yards per touchdown he scored in college. Jet sweeps, deep balls, maybe returning kicks. That’s what he does. I’m not sure it matters when you can’t catch. He’s not a dangerous route runner either. You have to be the one to scheme him the open look where he can run in space.

Looks like a replica of Tyquan Thornton. Fast but not a real football player. Combine that with the chronic drop issues, I’m not sure how you draft him or trust him to not turn the ball over as a returner on special teams either. Smith gets an undrafted grade from me and if anyone disagrees, there’s no chance you actually watched the games.
