Even with no one in the NFL, the Manning family is still making football history. This time it is the son of Cooper Manning making the news. Arch Manning, the nephew of both Eli and Peyton Manning, is the top rated quarterback and the number five overall player in the 2023 class. At his young age, Arch Manning is already a large 6’3” and 195 pounds.
At only age 15, Arch Manning is getting a solid amount of good press. He is also already being scouted by top football colleges. The four-star pro-style QB recorded 2500 yards and 34 TDs, with only six INTs as a freshman at Isidore Newman High school. Leading his school to a 9-2 record. The same high school where his father and uncles played. This impressive resume led to Arch receiving offers from an immense amount of schools. This list included powerhouses such as LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, and Duke.
Arch Manning has a family connection to Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Duke. His father, grandfather, and Uncle Eli Manning all played at Ole Miss. Uncle Peyton Manning, on the other hand, was a superstar and legend at Tennessee. In addition, a trusted family advisor, David Cutcliffe, is the head coach at Duke.
When looking at Arch Manning scouts reported that he, “didn’t look like an inexperience freshman” and that he “wasn’t overwhelmed by the speed of the game”. Arch showed that he was accurate both in and out of the pocket. He also showed his movement abilities by having four rushing TDs in his first year. Arch Manning’s natural poise and accuracy within the pocket will most certainly help him in the future. It will also help whichever college team will be able to recruit him.
However, as of now, the Manning family will collectively make the decision where Arch Manning will play football when the time comes. But, when that decision comes it will shake the landscape of college football.
