Analyzing The Desmond Ridder For Rondale Moore Swap

Like with the Donte Jackson and Diontae Johnson swap, there were a bunch of minor trades that we missed during free agency. We’re going to make sure you get proper insight on all of that stuff (the Sam Howell trade will be the next one we hit today). Anyway… Desmond Ridder was traded for Rondale Moore and we need to talk about it.

I can’t believe a real NFL general manager agreed to this trade. It just shows how dumb some of these people are and you can’t even make it up. I could have told you YEARS ago that Desmond Ridder sucked. How or why the Cardinals are giving up Rondale Moore as part of that trade to just have Ridder be a backup is clinically insane.

Sometimes players fail because they have no reason to succeed. Arizona was tanking. Did anybody have a good year in Arizona last year? How about the year before? Do you see my point now?

Moore, 23, had 54 receptions for 435 receiving yards as a rookie. All of the momentum just died after that. Again, I’ll remind everyone that Moore is just 23. We haven’t seen his best football. To acquire him for a quarterback who literally can’t play is a huge fleece by Atlanta. If you just go and revert to his draft profile, Falcon fans should be very excited. I think that guy still very much exists.

I can’t stress enough how dumb this was by Arizona. Was the goal to find someone who is less terrible than Clayton Tune? If so, maybe they accomplished that. Ridder had a 12-12 TD to INT ratio last year and all Atlanta did was draft skill position players to help him. Guy can’t play a lick. This is the type of trade that should put Monti Ossenfort on the hot seat.
