Amon Ra St. Brown Is A Savage, Unloads On Dyami Brown

I was too low on Amon Ra St. Brown coming into the draft last year. I just didn’t think he created enough separation and looked small. When I miss, it’s always for the same reason. I wasn’t in the interview room to get to know the player. St. Brown remembers all of the players drafted ahead of him and has used that fuel to get better.

After the Lions Week 2 win over the Commanders, St. Brown UNLOADED on Dyami Brown. I mean talk about an all-time savage move right here:

“The draft, it is what it is. Even the Commanders, they got a guy before me over there. I believe his name is Dyami Brown,” St. Brown said, per Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit. “I don’t know how many catches he had. You guys can probably tell me that. Or how many yards he had.”

“I don’t forget things like that,” St. Brown said. “I see him across the sideline from where I’m standing during the game, and I’m going to give every team hell.”

“I didn’t see him in the game much.”

In fairness to myself, I wasn’t super wrong about St. Brown. In fact, I had St. Brown ranked in my top 10 wide receiver rankings despite the fact that 16 receivers went ahead of him. If St. Brown was there in the fourth round, I might have picked him. I just did not feel that he was a first or second round player which is what he was recruited to be. I also had St. Brown ahead of Dyami Brown when the consensus did not.

This is also why you trade down. You always trade down.

I felt that St. Brown had some talent but that his strength (which was his best asset) would be whipped out by playing against real corners instead of the bums in the Pac 12. That obviously did not turn out to be the case. That power is what sets St. Brown apart and why he’s looking like a future / current stud.

St. Brown leads the NFL in yards per carry (14.3). He’s also got 180 yards and three touchdowns on the season through two weeks. The Lions got this one very, very right.
