AEW Dynamite is set to feature some very intriguing matches. There are two tag-team matches along with two massive singles matches. Plus, we hear from the devil himself, MJF. As of late, AEW has been criticized more for its weekly shows. Fans are often questioning the booking decisions of Tony Khan and are complaining about the lack of storylines and big stars missing from the shows. It’s clear that AEW is missing Kenny Omega and the Elite and with no word on when they’ll return, AEW has been struggling. Nevertheless, this episode of AEW Dynamite has a lot of potential to be a fantastic show. So let’s take a look at what’s booked for the show.
MJF is set to appear on the show. And if you’ve learned anything from him, it’s that he’s going to cut a must-see promo. Following his emotional promo with William Regal last week, it’s going to be interesting to see what he has to say. MJF will be facing Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear in a few weeks. So it’s safe to say that MJF will likely have a lot to say on AEW Dynamite.
Riho came to the aid of Toni Storm following an attack during her last match. This is the first time we have seen Riho since May of this year. There’s no denying the fact she’s one of the best young wrestlers in AEW. Furthermore, she’s a former AEW Women’s champion in her own right. In her first match back, she is taking on Jamie Hayter. Hayter has been one of the most dominant women over the past couple of weeks.
She’s extremely talented and one of the strongest women in the division. Riho is looking to get revenge on Hayter for her attacks post-match. While Hayter has yet to capture any gold in AEW, you can’t deny the fact that she is one of the more talented wrestlers in the Women’s division. A win for Jamie Hayter over a former AEW Women’s champion on AEW Dynamite will be massive for her.
These two men are part of two groups that absolutely hate each other. The Blackpool Combat Club and Jericho Appreciation Society have had some extremely violent matches over the past couple months. While the feud seems to have died out, men from both groups can’t seem to stay away from one another. Bryan Danielson was betrayed by Jericho Appreciation Society member Daniel Garcia during his match against Chris Jericho for the ROH world championship. This week, he faces Sammy Guevara. These two have never met in a singles competition. So it will be interesting to see how their styles clash. Danielson is more of a hard-hitting technician while Guevara is a high-flyer who isn’t afraid to take risks. Who’s going to walk out with the win on AEW Dynamite?
This match is to crown the new number-one contender for the AEW tag-team championships. Both teams are former tag team champions in AEW in their own right, but Swerve In Our Glory lost the belts only a few weeks ago. FTR is one of the top tag teams in AEW right now. They currently hold the ROH, AAA, and IWGP heavyweight tag team championships. They’re in search to win their fourth tag-team title, so they need to pick up a win to have a chance. Swerve In Our Glory clearly haven’t gotten over their loss to the Acclaimed. Swerve Strickland has been extra bitter since then, and you can tell both men aren’t happy about the loss. This is the first time these men will step into a ring together, so it’ll be interesting to see how it unfolds.
Ever since beating Claudio Castagnoli and becoming the new ROH world champion, Chris Jericho has caused absolute chaos. He’s vowed to destroy ROH and everything it stands for. He has beaten former ROH world champions, Bandido, Bryan Danielson, and Dalton Castle. In recent weeks, Daniel Garcia has had a rough patch with the Jericho Appreciation Society. He contemplated joining the Blackpool Combat Club, but ultimately showed his true colors.
Garcia helped Jericho retain his ROH world title by hitting Bryan Danielson in the head with the title when the referee’s back was turned during their match. Following this, Wheeler Yuta was extremely upset with Bryan Danielson. Yuta, who is rivals with Garcia, never believed in the idea that Garcia wanted to leave the Jericho Appreciation Society. Yuta claims that Claudio Castagnoli felt the same way. Garcia beat Yuta to become the ROH Pure champion a few weeks ago. Now Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli have a shot at revenge on AEW Dynamite.
Jon Moxley has not slowed down since signing a contract extension with AEW. Moxley is coming off a hard-fought victory over Hangman Page on AEW Dynamite last week. He’s one of the true workhorses of AEW, and he shows that every week. Following his match against Hangman Page, Jon Moxley laid down an open challenge for anyone he hasn’t faced yet in AEW. Well, a man with zero fear answered the call.
Primarily a tag-team wrestler, Pénta El Zero Miedo is looking to showcase his skills as a singles wrestler. He is a former AEW tag team champion and the current AEW Trios Champion. These two have an interesting contrast in styles. Pénta is a high-flying luchador, but also knows how to hit hard. Moxley is mostly a ground-and-pound wrestler who welcomes pain. So this will be a true test for the AEW World Champion. And with MJF lurking in the background, Moxley needs to stay focused on his match.
