The Jets and Panthers have been holding joint practices together. This is the first chance that Aaron Rodgers has gotten to see Bryce Young up close. It’s safe to say that Rodgers is a big fan of the former Alabama product. Rodgers believes that the Panthers got their hands on a franchise quarterback.
“I like the kid a lot,” Rodgers said of Young, according to Carolina Blitz. “We share an agent, so I’ve known about him for a long time. I loved watching him in college. I like his demeanor, I like his movements, I like the way he throws. … I think Carolina is in good hands.”
On the flip side, Young obviously had high praise for Rodgers as well. No surprise there given all that Rodgers accomplished in the league. It’s a fairly routine answer.
“When you talk about someone like Aaron Rodgers, who’s had so much success for so long, any advice that he gives me, I’ll definitely be receptive to it,” Young said Wednesday, per ESPN’s David Newton.
I have now said this now on a bunch of different posts, but I’m a believer in this Panthers’ team. I’m picking them to win the NFC South. Largely because I believe Young is ready to play right now. I’m higher on Young more than most in fantasy formats too. If you’re going to pick a rookie quarterback in fantasy for this year, Young is by far the safest bet. Especially if you’re talking about redraft leagues.
