The Cincinnati Bengals drafted North Carolina State quarterback Ryan Finley in the 4th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Some started to question whether Finley could actually replace Dalton in the future. While Andy Dalton kind of sucks. I think that’s a fair argument. Even the red water pistol himself isn’t afraid of Finley. How awesome is that!
“I think they’re just trying to create some competition in the backup room,” Dalton said, via the Bengals’ official website. “So, obviously we need numbers. You can’t go in with two, so we’ve got to get to four and I think we did that. I think we signed an undrafted free agent as well. I’m interested to see what he’s like and get to meet him.”
Notice the quote there. “Backup room” That’s the kind of stuff we need more from Dalton. Stop being the punching bag and start balling out. For the record, Dalton should be confident. It would be one thing if Cincy went quarterback early. They drafted Finley in round 4. It would be one thing if Cincy actually drafted a quarterback with talent. Finley has no talent. Finley is by far the worst arm talent the draft had to offer.
Nevertheless, Dalton probably is on thin ice. If Marvin Lewis finally got fired,
