Report: Lamar Jackson recruited Odell Beckham Jr. to the Baltimore Ravens

After multiple temper tantrums and wanting boatloads of money, the Baltimore Ravens have finally signed him. No, not Lamar Jackson, but Odell Beckham Jr., who signed a one-year deal with Baltimore after Jackson recruited Beckham, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Jackson gave the intention to Beckham that he will be throwing the 30-year-old wide receiver the pigskin this season. Even with the doubt of Jackson playing for the Ravens, Beckham still inked himself to be a Raven, for now, until Jackson complains again.

So far, this offseason hasn’t been ideal for the Ravens. Yes, they got Jackson some help at receiver, but it is an overpay for an aging, injury-prone receiver, and Jackson still isn’t signed. Besides the point, giving Jackson a receiver he wanted enticed him to take the next official step into re-signing with Baltimore.

Beckham’s battled injuries in his career, including two ACL tears in two out of the last three seasons — both of which would sideline him for a season each. When injury-free, Beckham has proved he can still be the receiver he once was.

In 2021, Beckham played 18 games, six for the Browns and 12 for the Rams. Beckham caught 44 balls for 537 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season. He would go on to catch an additional 21 passes for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns.

The new wide receiver-quarterback tandem seemed excited to come together. Jackson and Beckham Facetimed a few hours after the news broke, according to the Ravens’ press release. Safe to say, the two are happy to be united as Jackson tweeted at Beckham with a picture of the newfound duo.
