2023 NFL Draft War Room: Green Bay Packers
It’s Jordan Love time? The NFC North is a wide open division. Why can’t the Packers get back on top with a strong draft? That’s exactly what we hope to accomplish today. What will Green Bay do during the 2023 NFL Draft? Let’s head inside the War Room to see what we can come up with!
- Round 1, Pick 15
- Round 2, Pick 45
- Round 3, Pick 78
- Round 4, Pick 116
- Round 5, Pick 149
- Round 5, Pick 170*
- Round 7, Pick 232
- Round 7, Pick 235 (from DET via LAR)
- Round 7, Pick 242 (from JAX)
- Round 7, Pick 256*
So we were actually able to trade Aaron Rodgers to the Jets during this simulation. Something we know is coming. Who knows what the real package will be but we were able to get pick 13 out of it. That right now seems like the dream scenario for Green Bay.
Honestly, this Packers team is sort of in an enviable position. The roster is strong and we can truly afford to take the best player available. The secondary might be the best in the league. Green Bay is all in on Love. It has to be a best player available mode.
There are some areas of need. Getting tackle insurance would be nice. More weapons for Love seems optimal too. Given the amount of picks Green Bay is about to get, maybe it would be a wise ideal to send some picks for next year too. Just in case this Love experiment goes south, being in a prime position to take the next guy makes a lot of sense. Hedging your bet on both now and the future should be what the Packers try to accomplish.
