At what point does this become a little boy cried wolf situation? Apparently, this is not a troll job. Rico Bosco, after previously accepting a job with Audacy, is crawling back to Barstool. Bosco’s return was announced via a special episode of the Pick Em show that relates to everything Bosco.
48 hours. That’s all it took for Bosco to change his mind. According to the episode, Bosco was literally gone. He had accepted a job at a competitor using the same agent that Trista Krick had used to move over to competitor BetQL. In the link provided in the first paragraph, there are literally quotes coming from Boomer Esiason referring to the new Bosco hire. Instead, Hank’s hope came true. He’s back in the building inside of a week later.
Just a quick aside on Audacy, this is a major deal that Bosco is leaving them high and dry. They have already decided to not renew several contracts including Lou Merloni likely to pave the way for the Bosco addition. The Audacy stock is already in the toilet and this one ripple effect could lead to a potential sale of the company.
If we’re being real, Bosco would have been a terrible fit at BetQL. Barstool is the right home for him. All of the antics that Rico pulls out would never fly at a real company. It would have been a parade of controversy that no one at Audacy would have been able to know how to handle.
Also included in the special Pick Em episode, Rico officially apologizes to Cons live on air. Several Barstool employees are certainly not happy that Bosco is back. For those wanting more details, check out the episode here.
