After two weeks off we’re back with the 2022 NFL Draft stock report posts. I know it’s been a while but I was in Las Vegas so deal with it. Anyway, we have four games for you this week. Those include Michigan vs. Michigan State, Georgia vs. Florida, Ole Miss vs. Auburn, and Penn State vs. Ohio State. Let’s get right to it. Here is your Week 9 2022 NFL Draft stock report.
This was a great game but I only need to break down one player. Kenneth Walker is the story and is the only story that needs to be discussed. You never really know how real a transfer is from Wake Forest. Even if said transfer gets off to a hot start. No, I saw enough here. Kenneth Walker is very… very… VERY real.
Do I really need to go beyond the box score. 23 carries for 197 yards and FIVE touchdowns. This cat is good, good. Fast, elusive, good burst, agile, good change of direction, ability to bust tackles for yards after contact, etc. It’s not like I’ve been watching Kenneth Walker for years now but I can’t imagine he’s not part of the high end running back conversation. Kenneth Walker changed the outcome of the game and that’s what excellent collegiate running backs do. AND he did with while being the entire focal point of the offense. I’m officially in.
This game was boring and to be frank, I turned the game off at halftime. I saw Zamir White drop a pass. Exactly the reason I still prefer James Cook despite the fact that he doesn’t touch the ball enough. Florida is just dreadful. Hard to watch.
It’s impossible to think about anything else other than JT Daniels remaining on the sidelines. Maybe it means nothing but how is Stetson Bennett still taking snaps? Will that be the case when they play Alabama in the SEC title game? Daniels needs those snaps because, in this quarterback class, he can play himself right into the mix. Right now, that’s not happening.
Tell you what; I like Matt Corral. I’d be scared to death to take him… but I like him. Corral injured his ankle in the game, came storming back in the game, and played his ass off. It wasn’t even really a good performance. No touchdown passes but all the weird shit that makes him interesting was there.
The off-platform shit the elite quarterbacks can do, Corral can do it but his accuracy with them just quite isn’t there. He’s the perfect wildcard in this class. Will he figure it out or will he crash and burn? Yes, landing spots matter. Truthfully, I’m still not 100 percent what to do here… but I like him.
That’s about all I got. Smoke Monday tackles really well for a defensive back. He interests me. Zaboky McClain is all over the field but not sure his athletic ceiling is high enough. Okay, that’s really all I got.
I didn’t see as much of this game as I wanted because I was flipping back and forth between this and the Ole Miss disaster. Sooo I’ll just do some quick hitters.
Noah Cain is officially dead. John Lovett? Really?
Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave were sort of held in check. Both Penn State corners can play. I think it’s obvious now that Joey Porter Jr. is better than Tariq Castro-Fields, but both can play.
Jahan Dotson had himself ANOTHER big game. Better than KJ Hamler? I’m leaning that way.
I still don’t know what Jesse Luketa is but the guy lines up everywhere and I think he can rush the passer.
