UFC Vegas 28 Reactions. What Is Next For The Night’s Big Winners?

UFC Vegas 28 was last night, and there were some insane moments. The main card had a few big winners that could be launched into the top of their division after their impressive performances.

UFC Vegas 28’s Big Winner: Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is the number 6 ranked UFC heavyweight. After his performance on Saturday night, I doubt he will be outside the top 5 by next week. Rozenstruik delivered a brutal last-second KO to Augusto Sakai at the end of the first round. Even before the knockout, Rozenstruik was absolutely dominating his opponent, landing 55% of his strikes and not allowing Sakai to land any return shots. What does this mean for Rozenstruik next? Well, it means his next fight will most likely be a top 5 fight and a possible title eliminator. I have a good feeling that his next bout will be against Curtis Blaydes, who is the 4th ranked heavyweight contender. Keep an eye on Jairzinho Rozenstruik because I think he will have a successful next few months.

Who Else Was A Winner?

Maybe the next biggest winner in my eyes from Saturday night was Roman Dolidze. Dolidze put on an absolute clinic in every aspect of the fight game. From his striking to his grappling, he was dominant for the entire 15 minutes. He landed 58% of his total strikes and defended his opponent’s strikes beautifully, only allowing him to land at a 40% clip. He also landed 5/9 takedowns attempted. That win brought him up to 3-1 in the UFC and 8-1 overall. I think Dolidze showed that he is a real threat in the light heavyweight division.

The last fighter I want to touch on from Saturday’s card is Marcin Tybura. Tybura emerged victorious after a TKO over Walt Harris in the first round. Maybe the most impressive thing about Tybura’s victory was his volume and accuracy. He threw 71 shots in just over 4 minutes of fight time and landed at an 83% clip. For a heavyweight, this is ridiculous. Tybura’s victory on Saturday also extended his win streak to 5, dating back to early 2020. Before his fight against Walt Harris, Tybura was ranked #11 in the UFC heavyweight rankings, but I would not be shocked if he lands at 8 or 9 come next week.

Overall, UFC Vegas 28 was a great card, filled with stellar fights and some big-time wins.
