2021 NFL Draft War Room: Tennessee Titans

The Titans are one of those teams that puts me to sleep. It just is what it is. There’s a clear ceiling with this team. Perennial playoff contenders but never good enough to ever win the big one. The only thing the Titans can do right now is focus on nailing the 2021 NFL Draft to ensure another playoff bid. Let’s head inside the war room.

• First round: 22nd overall
• Second round: 53rd overall
• Third round: 85th overall
• Third round: 100^th overall-x
• Fourth round: 126th overall
• Fifth round: 166th overall
• Sixth round: 205th overall
• Sixth round: 215th overall
• Seventh round: 232nd overall

The Titans have a good stable collection of picks to work with. That’s the good news. They also have some work to do. Especially after their first round pick a year ago (Isaiah Wilson) completely flopped.

Would the Titans take Rashod Bateman in the first round as their Corey Davis replacement? Tennessee didn’t just lose Davis. Jonnu Smith skipped town too. Bateman would go a long way towards fixing the deteriorating weapon issue.

The Titans need to find a way to better pressure the quarterback. Signing Bud Dupree is a start but why not double down? Ronnie Perkins out of Oklahoma would be a great fit. Tennessee ranked 30th in the NFL in sacks. Adding Dupree and drafting a player like Perkins would do wonders.

Taking one of those tight end fliers makes sense after losing Jonnu. Tre McKitty out of Georgia makes a lot of sense. Right now you’re relying on Anthony Firkser to get the job done. He’s not a long term answer. McKitty doesn’t have virtually any college production but the raw tools are there. A team like the Titans should take that chance.
