Quarterback might be the most important position on the field. However, teams don’t hand all of the keys to the franchise to their starting QB. At the end of the day, there is still a head coach, owner, and general manager, with the only exception being the Jets. Rodgers happens to be all three and runs this team. He’s the most powerful quarterback in the league right now.
I’ve been clamoring for both Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas to be fired. The only thing that’s clear with the Jets is that there is a total absence of leadership with the Jets. Saleh continues to make a fool out of himself every time he speaks and Douglas continues to hide in witness protection.
Is it even necessary for me to link all of the contradictions here? You can Google all these for yourself. He flip-flopped constantly with Zach Wilson. He claims to have not talked to Haason Reddick. Then, he says they did talk and expected him at camp, only for Reddick to not show up. The entire thing is a joke.
That leads us to Rodgers himself. The same guy who makes his own schedule and didn’t show up for mandatory mini-camp. Something Saleh said was unexcused and then said they were on the same page. Saleh is nothing more than a cheerleader. That’s all he will ever be.
This clip from Mike Francesa is on the money.
So is this one from Michael Lombardi on the Pat McAfee Show.
It’s the Jets. We have seen this story way too many times. I’m out on everything Jets as long as Saleh and Douglas remain the “power” figures in New York. We know Rodgers is running this team and it’s a disaster waiting to happen.
Do we think the Jets are going to run Randall Cobb out there again?
