Let’s talk about Texas running back Keilan Robinson. How will the former Longhorns back fare at the NFL level? Let’s review his 2024 NFL Draft profile! (Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports)

Keilan Robinson 2024 NFL Draft Profile

Up next on the 2024 NFL Draft profile list is Texas gadget guy Keilan Robinson. Robinson has been part of the Texas running back room but can he make an impact at the NFL level? Let’s get right down to business and talk about it.

How important is same size to you? Because with Robinson, we don’t exactly have a ton to work with. In terms of film to study, we have a total of 121 carries and 35 receptions to work with. That’s while talking about a guy who was part of the 2019 recruiting class.

It’s worth noting that Robinson got his playing career started at Alabama. It’s also probably safe to assume that Steve Sarkisian had a lot to do with his exit. Sark left for the Texas job in 2021 and Robinson got his first work with Texas that year. Robinson was just a three star recruit coming out of the Washington DC area.

It’s one thing not getting a ton of work as a freshman at Alabama. If anything, it’s kinda of encouraging he got 39 carries there. It’s also understanding that he didn’t get a ton of work during the Bijan Robinson area. It’s just less than ideal that he got 12 total carries and was immediately leaped on the roster by freshman CJ Baxter.

There are elements of Robinson’s game that you have to like. I’m just not sure it will matter. The former Longhorns back checks in at 5-foot-8, 191. He’s going to have to be a gadget guy that helps you in a multitude of ways. He’s at his best returning kicks and catching the ball out of the backfield. If you get him in space, good things happen. It’s getting him in space that is the challenge.

Robinson is a really good pure mover. Passed the test in that aspect at the Combine. Catches the ball really well. Definitely can hit the home run ball and clocked in at a 4.42 during the 40.

I have an undrafted grade on Keilan Robinson but he’s got a Keaton Mitchell element to his game. I was far higher on Mitchell but Robinson can be a game-wrecker if given the right chances. Especially in the trick game area.
