Malcolm Brogdon Claims He Didn’t Feel Valued By The Celtics

Malcolm Brogdon was dumped by the Celtics in the Jrue Holiday trade and he’s still acting like a sour puss about it. We knew the relationship in Boston was rocky but Brogdon definitely still sounds hurt by how it all went down.

“At times,” Brogdon told Jason Quick of The Athletic (don’t click the link it’s from The trash Athletic). “I was there for a year, won Sixth Man of the Year, and they shipped me out. So like … I didn’t feel very valued there.

“Here, I feel valued. Portland has embraced me. And I’ve enjoyed being coached by Chauncey (Billups).”

“I’m happy here. I’m valued here, valued in this leadership/lead-guard role,” he told Quick. “And I can’t complain with that. I’m happy in Portland.”

I’m sorry but this is hilarious. As if every person in America wouldn’t have traded him for Holiday. As if every person in America wouldn’t have dumped him in the Porzingis trade. It’s not the Celtics’ fault that he’s damaged goods and got hurt at the worst time of the year.

Even at the time when the Celtics traded for Brogdon, everybody in the media was surprised that they didn’t give up much. That was the narrative. When you’re hurt all the time and your defensive ability is eroding, you’re not that valuable. It is what it is, man.

The Celtics are 37-11 with a +9.4 point differential. They’re the best team in the NBA right now. Have a little self-awareness, Brogdon. They don’t miss you. At least acknowledge the part that they’re better without you if you’re going to cry about it.
