Watch: The New trailer For ‘Road House’ Remake Has Arrived

The original Road House movie was an action film starring Patrick Swayze, as the 1989 film portrayed Swayze as a security guard who is hired to clean up a popular bar. Swayze is a total badass who fights troublemakers at the bar before getting caught up in a ploy from a corrupt businessman. This movie screams 80s action film. Now, the original is getting a remake starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The remake has a chance to be good as there is a lot of nostalgia for the original in popular culture.

Here, is the first trailer for the Road House remake.

The remake gives the original material a facelift as it is placed in modern times. The setting of Missouri is traded in for the much more flashy and exotic Florida Keys. Also, the main character in the 2024 film will have a UFC fighting background which is a nice modern touch. These changes are a good sign that the remake will have its own flavor to differentiate itself from the original, putting Gyllenhaal at the forefront.

Also, the film does its fair share of promoting UFC star Conor McGregor as one of the main villains. His look and aesthetic are perfect for an over-the-top and crazy bad guy. This film has the chance to deliver a cheesy action movie to a new generation of fans. The Road House remake is set to arrive March 21 on Amazon Prime Video.

Road House Filmed at a UFC Event:

This film received some hype in the UFC world for some clever marketing back in March 2023. As I stated earlier, the movie has Jake Gyllenhaal as a former UFC fighter. The UFC parts of the film, some of which were shown in the trailer, were filmed at UFC 285, as the movie filmed Gyllenhaal in character inside of the octagon in front of the live crowd at one of the biggest PPVs of last year. That is incredible and creative marketing for the Road House remake.

That choice made it clear that the film is trying to reach its target audience which would be fighting fans. McGregor is in the film so some UFC fans were going to watch the movie for that reason alone. It will be interesting to see if this film will deliver a fun movie experience. However, one thing is certain with a great actor like Gyllenhaal and a skilled athlete like McGregor: Fans should receive awesome fight scenes.
