Tyson Bagent: Future Bears Franchise Quarterback?
Screw Caleb Williams, it’s Tyson Bagent szn! You already know some moron that roots for the Bears is thinking just that. I just want to have a quick chat about Bagent because we already know what’s going to happen today. The Bears won the debut start of Bagent and we already know what the conversation is going to be today.
Can Tyson Bagent become the next franchise quarterback of the Bears?
Is Bagent the real deal?
Did the Bears get the steal of the draft in Bagent?
The answer to all of those questions is a resounding no and I question your intelligence if you think otherwise.
If you want to read the draft profile we did on Bagent, I encourage you to do so. It mostly includes his performance at the Senior Bowl, which can mostly be described as vomit-worthy. Congrats on putting up a bunch of numbers at the D-two level and not being a complete liability when being able to move. That’s where the list of compliments ends. Your best-case scenario is Sam Ehlinger and we all know he can’t play.
If a mediocre start against the Raiders knocks your socks off, please seek help. You can try to argue with me on this but it won’t end well for you. The last time the Bear fans tried to argue with me about a quarterback, Trubisky happened. You people STILL haven’t apologized to me for that.
If there is a takeaway from what happened in Bagent’s debut start is that there should be no takeaway. Matt Flynn threw for six touchdowns in a game one time. It meant nothing. That’s the case with this too.
