Barstool Sports Hires Ben Mintz Back After Divorce With Penn

Ben Mintz is so back. It’s almost like he never left. Following the divorce with Penn Entertainment, Barstool Sports is bringing Ben Mintz back.

Dave Portnoy dropped a video to confirm the news:

Let’s catch you up to speed on the timeline here. Barstool was forced to fire Mintzy back in early May. Portnoy then gave Mintzy a phantom job at his watch company. A few months later, Mintzy is back with the company now that Portnoy owns 100% of the company. The craziest part is, Mintzy missed literally zero time covering college football fan. That’s Mintzy’s specialty. The only thing Mintzy missed was the baseball college world series, which may have been a good thing based on how much of a jinx he is.

You have to give the Barstool founder a lot of credit here. He had Mintzy’s back when a lot of people would have just walked away. A ton of respect for that ride or die mentality. You could tell how happy Portnoy was just by that smile. Dave Portnoy’s first order of business now that he’s back in charge of Barstool was by bringing back Ben Mintz. You can’t make it up if you tried.

The Mintzy and Brandon Walker rivalry is back. That’s probably the best news in terms of pure content. Sometimes Walker needs to be dropped from his high horse and having Mintzy laugh at him when Ole Miss beat Mississippi State again in football will be great content.
