Former Barstool Exile Ben Mintz Becomes First Brick Watch Company Employee

It turns out that Dave Portnoy was able to throw Ben Mintz a life raft after all. It just won’t be in the content game. I’m not sure who had watch company on their bingo card for Ben Mintz landing spots but if you did, you won. Mintzy will become the first Brick Watch company employee.

Chaps put out a worthless 20-word blog on it that you can find here but Mintzy announced the news on Twitter. Talk about a birthday present.

Yes, many people may not know that Portnoy founded a watch company. The company is kinda a sham and the watches suck but at least Mintzy is employed again! Jack has a solid write up you can check out about these watches. I have no idea who would buy these unless you’re a lunatic Barstool fanboy but that’s a topic for another day.

I’m a bit surprised that Mintz didn’t land with another company after Barstool was forced to fire him. That, of course, was Penn’s decision. Portnoy obviously wanted to keep Mintzy employed and this action proves it. Penn doesn’t own the watch company but it will be interesting to see if this news upsets their higher-ups. You can’t rule out that possibility.

I have no idea what Mintzy is going to do at the watch company but at least the guy is back on his feet. Will the Barstool fanbase forgive Portnoy now that he basically gave Mintzy a charity job? Will Barstool keep Mintzy out of the content part of things or will he find a way to sneak back into that realm?

Out of all of the possible outcomes for Mintzy, I’m not sure anybody saw this coming. Will they really hide Mintzy behind the watch company or will he squeeze back into content and anger Penn? I’m not sure the Mintzy controversy is gone for good. Mintz is too big of a wildcard for this story to go down quietly.
