Hugh Freeze Is Going To Win At Auburn

Auburn got a lot of pushback when they hired Hugh Freeze as their next head coach. Months later, the smart people are already aware of how this partnership is going to go. If people aren’t paying attention, I have some news for them. Hugh Freeze is going to win at Auburn. It’s a matter of how long it takes the rest of the college football public to figure it out.

Freeze has a muddied past and I’m not denying that part of it. You can Google all of those issues yourself. There isn’t really a need to discuss them further. What matters is that it hasn’t affected his recruiting status. In fact, I’d argue that Freeze is already exceeding expectations in the recruiting process.

Again, say whatever you want about Freeze. What matters is that his past hasn’t affected the fact that kids still want to play for him. We’re talking about a coach that brought AJ Brown and DK Metcalf to Ole Miss. Freeze now has more resources at Auburn and we’re already seeing the fruits of that pay off already.

Auburn has the 5th best transfer portal for incoming class this year. For the 2024 class, they just flipped five-star Perry Thompson who was committed to Alabama. Don’t worry, they just stole a kid from Georgia too. Linebacker Demarcus Riddick has also been flipped from the Bulldogs.

Sure, they paid for the kids but who cares? What matters is Freeze is doing his job and the Auburn backers were holding those same resources when that bum Bryan Harsin had the job. Harsin was a walking corpse at Auburn. Freeze is a headache to the big boys and the SEC. He’s going to be a headache to play against too.

Can Hugh Freeze Really Resurrect Robby Ashford?

I’m not saying you have to root for Hugh Freeze… but you should all be prepared when he wins even in a ridiculously challenging conference. This is the same guy that got Malik Willis drafted in the third round when he can’t throw the ball. He can coach and is a really creative offensive mind. Auburn made a good hire here. Recognize it now before you’re too late. It probably won’t happen in year one but they will beat good teams in the very near future.
