4 wide receivers were taken ahead of LSU product Justin Jefferson. Henry Ruggs III, Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, and Jalen Reagor were all selected ahead of Jefferson in the 2020 NFL Draft. Minnesota pulled the trigger on Jefferson at 22 overall. The LSU wide receiver was not happy about it and is building a serious chip on his shoulder.

“I mean, yes,” Jefferson said Thursday on The Zach Gelb Show when asked if he was surprised by the wait. “I felt like I was the best receiver in this draft class, and being the fifth receiver off the board, it kind of was a shocker. But also having that on my shoulder going into this next season with Minnesota, I’m definitely excited to show the world what I have.”

“Every single person that picked a receiver instead of me are going to pay,” Jefferson said. “I’m going to show them that I am the better receiver than the pick that they had. . . . I’m definitely excited to go into Minnesota and [compete] for [a] Super Bowl.”

Jefferson is coming off a ridiculous final season at LSU. 111 catches for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns in LSU’s national championship season. It’s hard to find a receiver with better numbers this past year. More so than anything, If I’m Jefferson, I’m pissed Jalen Reagor got picked ahead of him. That’s hilarious. That’s one I would not let go. The Eagles are likely going to pay for that one.

Jefferson enters an interesting situation in Minnesota. His duty will be to replace what Stefon Diggs gave the Vikings. I’m not sure he can replicate that kind of production right away, but Jefferson has serious upside. Justin Jefferson has a unique skill set that the Vikings should be happy to have.
