2025 NFL Scouting Combine: Notable Absentee List

The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is almost here. With the workouts sent to begin shortly, I wanted to provide a quick list of players who weren’t invited but maybe should have been. Shilo Sanders wasn’t invited but he probably shouldn’t have been. Excluding that, let’s get to the list.

Don’t forget, these players could still wind up being drafted. They just won’t be in Indianapolis this week.

Dan Jackson

Criminal to leave Dan Jackson at home. Yes, he’s a former walk-on but he’s also a three-year starter for Georgia. Part of two National title winning defenses. Had really strong moments this year against Georgia Tech and the Senior Bowl. Probably wouldn’t have been the craziest athletic showing but he deserved to be here.

Chaz Chambliss

There should just be a rule. If there are players on the Georgia defense with real production, let’s not leave them at home. He was tied for the team high 6.5 sacks last year. He should be here.

RJ Oben

Production is the only thing leaving Oben at home. He’s worthy of being here but easy to leave him out after 1 sack this year. Thought he looked alright at the Senior Bowl though.

Efton Chism III

The Eastern Washington receiver put up huge numbers this past year (120 passes for 1,311 yards and 13 touchdowns). Cooper Kupp made it out of Eastern Washington and Chism should have been given a chance to do the same. Didn’t talk about him much at the East-West game but he has something to him.

Willie Lampkin

5-foot-10 and 270 is the only reason why he’s not here. I think we saw during the Senior Bowl that this guy competes. Skill wise, it sucks he’s not here. The NFL obviously determined he has no shot based on the size factor.

Johnny Walker Jr

This one makes zero sense to me. Dude put on a show during the Shrine Bowl game. He had 9.5 sacks this year for Missouri in the SEC. How do you leave a pass rusher like this at home? Insane move by the league.

Cam Miller

Not a world beater but the North Dakota State quarterback probably deserved to at least be a throwing QB here. No egregious non-invites for QB but if you’re looking for one, start here.

Esa Pole

Was a top performer at the East-West. I’d argue he was the best offensive lineman there. Bad miss by the league. The way he performed in practice, you have a hard time convincing me he can’t stick in the league for someone as an eventual starter at tackle.
