2025 NFL Draft Stock Report: Duke’s Mayo Bowl

We’re not even screwing around with this one. I was here to watch one player and one player only. I’ll say this, it was worth my time too and I’m glad I watched. Cam Ward’s somehow related cousin? Kyron Drones didn’t even play in this one. Virginia Tech got whooped and it was clear they didn’t put their best foot forward. No hair, don’t care. We’re here to watch one guy on Minnesota. Not even going to bury the lede. Okay… so here is your 2025 NFL Draft Stock Report on the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

Darius Taylor. Yes, that’s who we were here for. Have you seen the Minnesota running back? If not, you’re missing out.

Finished this game with 20 carries for 113 yards and a score. He’s the best Minnesota running back since Marion Barber. Same kind of running style except Taylor is a bit more compact and lower to the ground. Oh, and he can catch better too.

Not a crazy burner and doesn’t have an extensive recruiting profile either. Although, when you dig into this, you realize Michigan wanted this guy bad but Minnesota was the first school to recruit him so he stayed loyal. 6-foot, 215 and a bruiser with plus wiggle. I’m a huge fan of this player. Just a plus athlete that can take over the game and tough. The type of back that gets stronger as the game goes. Just keep feeding the beast.

I’m just telling you, this will be a name to watch for the 2026 cycle. I’ll bet money he gets drafted and he absolutely should. I don’t have a specific comp for him yet but he’s very legit. This is a player you’re going to want to keep tabs on his progress next year.
