2024 NFL Draft War Room: Cleveland Browns
As the Cleveland Browns enter the 2024 NFL Draft War Room, there is just only so much we can do with this team. The Deshaun Watson trade killed our asset chest and we really don’t have much to work with here. It’s going to be challenging to remain a playoff team with no real impact rookies coming in.
We basically have no picks or no premium picks to work with. The positive is that this is the last year Cleveland owes Houston in terms of the Watson deal. Pushing some picks to the following year may be in the best interest of the team. Cleveland also gave away more picks in the Jerry Jeudy deal. I’m not sure that’s the sort of thing that makes sense for them given the spot they’re in but whatever.
Still, the Browns have a strong roster but holes remain. The goal here is really to get a few contributors while maintaining flexibility next year. In this simulation, I believe we do that pretty well. This is Andrew Berry’s mess and we’re just going to have to deal with it in this one.
As always, I’ll take any comments you have. I just don’t really know what can be done with this team. We’re looking for gems in the later rounds and trying the best we can here.
