I have been struggling the past couple of weeks to go positive in best bets. Last week was my worst week yet as I went 0-3 on the best bets. I trusted Clemson and Memphis to keep their CFB playoff aspirations alive but they were both upset and now their seasons are essentially over. Now, in week eleven there are multiple games that I like on the Saturday slate. Hopefully, I can bounce back and have a good week because a negative best bets series does not make a lot of sense. Here, are my 2024 CFB best bets for week 11.
*All lines are taken from Draft Kings and are accurate as of 2:00 pm ET on November 8
Overall: 8-10
Honorable Mentions: 7-6
Honorable Mentions: Vanderbilt +6.5 Spread, Oregon -23 Spread
This should be a good game between two 6-3 teams in week eleven. However, I like Colorado’s money line because I think they are flat-out the better team. Texas Tech is coming off an emotional upset win over Iowa State so this is a hangover spot for the Red Raiders. Also, Texas Tech gave up a combined 94 points the two weeks before the Iowa State game.
I think Colorado has the offensive firepower to take advantage of a Texas Tech defense that can hemorrhage points. Also, The Buffaloes’ defense will need to step up and try to slow down the Red Raider offense. This might be the biggest hurdle left on the Colorado schedule so I am banking on head coach Deion Sanders having his team ready after their bye week. Also, I’ll take the talent of QB Shedeur Sanders and WR Travis Hunter to will their team to a win.
Indiana is a staple on the 2024 CFB best bets series and they probably account for a chunk of my wins. I have put their money line in the last couple of weeks in honorable mentions. However, I wanted to pick at least one week 11 spread in my picks so I landed on the Hoosiers. Indiana is 8-1 against the spread this year so I am quite simply staying on the wagon until the wheels fall off.
Unfortunately, with my luck, it might be this week because Michigan has been playing better. Also, Indiana plays Ohio State so it might be a look-ahead spot. However, the Hoosiers’ defense has been amazing this year and they could give this bad Michigan offense issues. Also, Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke is another week removed from injury and the Indiana offense has been a buzzsaw all year. I think the Hoosiers will have a solid chance to find a way to win this game by two touchdowns.
BYU is my last week eleven best bet as they have a tough “Holy War” rivalry game on Saturday. The lines for this game are close because it is at Utah and like I said it’s a rivalry game. However, 8-0 BYU is just better on both sides of the ball. The Utes offense has been atrocious in recent weeks and it is not clear which quarterback they will play this week. On the other hand, the BYU defense is elite and among the best in the country.
Also, the Cougar offense has put up over 35 points in back-to-back weeks heading into this one. I trust QB Jake Retzlaff to be a game manager and put up enough points while limiting turnovers. BYU won the last Holy War in 2021 but Utah had won the previous nine games. These teams have had completely different seasons so if there was ever a time for BYU to dominate a rivalry game this weekend is a great opportunity. Those were my 2024 CFB best bets for week 11.
