The week 10 Saturday slate is not the best of the year but there are some good games to be found. Last week I went 1-2 for my best bets because Nevada got blown out by Hawaii. I was banking on Nevada QB Brendon Lewis playing in the game but instead, he was ruled out and the Wolf Pack offense suffered. However, in week ten, I have some money line picks, picks against the spread, and my first halftime spread pick. Hopefully, it will be another fun week of football even though there are only two ranked vs ranked matchups on Saturday. Nevertheless, here are my 2024 CFB best bets of the week for week 10.
*All lines are taken from Draft Kings and are accurate as of 3:00 pm ET on November 1
Overall: 8-7
Honorable Mentions: 6-4
Honorable Mentions: Arkansas +7 Spread, – 105, Texas A&M ML, – 162, Indiana ML, – 310
This pick might be my favorite of the week. Clemson has been amazing since their week one loss as they have demolished opponents. The Tigers have outscored their opponents in the first half 68-31 in their last three games. The Clemson offense has been fantastic at getting early leads but the defense likes to give up points late in the game. I will avoid the back door cover stress by taking Clemson 1 Half spread.
I am worried about the Louisville offense as they can score with the best of college football. However, their defense is beatable and the Cardinals are coming off a tight battle with Boston College. Now, Louisville has to travel to Memorial Stadium where Tiger fans should create a rowdy environment. Ultimately, I like Clemson to be up by a touchdown or more heading into halftime.
I am taking Memphis in this week ten game because they need this win if they want to keep their CFB Playoff hopes alive. Memphis is 7-1 with their one loss to a tough Navy team. Now, they play a struggling UTSA team in San Antonio. The Tigers have a strong offense with QB Seth Henigan and RB Mario Anderson Jr. executing at a high rate the past couple of weeks.
I think Memphis is the better team and they have the offensive firepower to blow the game open. I am worried about the Tigers defense but if they can limit big plays and find a few stops then I like their chances to win by two scores. If Memphis wants to be the best non-group of four teams then they will need to show it with a comfortable win against UTSA.
I was a bit confused about this week ten spread because I do not think Rice is that great of a team. I understand that Navy got beaten badly by No. 12 Notre Dame last week. Navy could come out slow knowing they lost their ranking and likely their chance at the college football playoff. However, they still have a strong chance to play in the American Athletic Conference Championship game. I think Navy will still be ready and excited to continue their wonderful season after the tough loss.
Also, every other game this season would lean to Navy winning this game by double digits. Navy, outside of the Notre Dame game, has outscored their last four opponents 182-86. I like the idea of QB Blake Horvath having a monster game on the ground and through the air against Rice. I think Navy quiets some of the noise with a huge statement win to keep their fantastic season on track. Those were my 2024 CFB best bets for week 10.
