I love the tight end OnlyFans because it’s so hard to find a reliable player for fantasy at this position. We’re throwing darts here and that’s all there really is to it. We also know there is bound to be at least one breakout player at the position and our job is to find him.
Tyler Conklin (New York Jets)
Green Bay really never had a dominant tight end with Aaron Rodgers. It’s possible that Tyler Conklin is the most talented tight end Rodgers has had in five years. A year ago with egregious quarterback play, Conklin posted 552 yards and three scores. Are we sure those numbers can’t explode?
Again, this is a total gamble but if the Jets offense is more explosive, there is a chance Conklin becomes a touchdown hog for Rodgers. Could wind up being a total steal in fantasy.
Cade Otton (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Trusting the quarterback play in Tampa is hard to do. I understand your hesitation in pulling the trigger on this one. Then again, Otton has a skillset that’s valuable for fantasy. 6-foot-5, 250, and really thrives at those 50-50 balls in the red area.
As a rookie, Otton posted 391 yards and two touchdowns. We also know tight ends usually take some time to develop so the fact that Otton posted those numbers already is really encouraging. You will need the touchdown luck on your side here but I believe it’s possible.
Jelani Woods (Indianapolis Colts)
Jelani Woods was lowkey impressive as a rookie with the Colts last year. As a rookie, Woods posted 312 yards and three scores. We kinda know the way this is trending. The hype train of Mo Alie-Cox has crashed and burned. We’re not falling for that cheese again.
Woods is going to take over this tight end room and already has. If he can build upon a strong rookie season, you could have a steal on your hands. Plus with Anthony Richardson as the quarterback, he’s going to look for that open tight end in the middle of the field. I like his odds to be a sleeper.
Irv Smith Jr. (Cincinnati Bengals)
I know… I get it. You’re tired of hearing from me about how good Irv Smith is. Don’t worry because I am pretty annoyed too and feel robbed that injuries had something to do with it. At the same time, how do you not love the flier call here? I get Irv Smith in this Bengals offense? You’re telling me he can’t outperform what Hayden Hurst gave you last year? I promise if Irv stinks this year I’ll let it go for good.
This is what I know. Irv Smith is probably the most talented tight end Nick Saban has ever had. He just can’t stay healthy. What if he’s healthy? What if the Bengals offense is so good that Irv is running wild? Hayden Hurst stinks and even he had 414 yards last year. Are you telling me Irv can’t get to 700 and maybe the touchdown luck is on your side?
Juwan Johnson (New Orleans Saints)
I love the Juwan Johnson call this year. This is someone we have been tracking at the site for a while. Johnson was always a big body wide receiver but you can see the tight end light bulb is really starting to click. I’ve always thought Johnson had potential and he’s finally starting to learn the tight end position.
Did you know Juwan Johnson outscored Dallas Goedert last year? I couldn’t believe it either but it’s true.
Heading into age 27 after piling up 508 yards and seven touchdowns a year ago? Call it a hot take. I don’t care. I think Johnson is a top five play at the position. Heed the warning.
*Taysom Hill* – quick side note here. If you’re in a best ball league, just take Hill. He’s going to win you a few weeks and will cost nothing. You’re welcome.
Chigoziem Okonkwo (Tennessee Titans)
I would argue that the DeAndre Hopkins signing helps Chig Okonkwo more than anybody. This is another second year tight end that now has the tight end room to himself after Austin Hooper departed for Vegas. I think the Titans believe in what they have here and Hopkins commanding doubles should make his life easier.
450 yards and three scores as a rookie is really encouraging. Has a serious athletic profile too that we talked about a bunch at the combine that year. Hopkins is really the only reliable weapon this team has. Mike Vrabel wants his tight ends involved in the offense. I think a top 10 finish at the position is the floor which makes Okonkwo a real steal.
