Bill Belichick isn’t very good at these things. Of course, the draft is what I’m referring to. I’m convinced Belichick doesn’t watch college football so trying to get inside the mind of him is virtually impossible. It’s going to be a challenge to project with Bill has up his sleeve. I’ll try anyway. Let’s head inside the New England Patriots 2021 NFL Draft War Room!
- Round 1, Pick 15 (15)
- Round 2, Pick 15 (46)
- Round 3, Pick 33 (96)
- Round 4, Pick 15 (120)
- Round 4, Pick 17 (122)
- Round 4, Pick 34 (139)
- Round 5, Pick 33 (177)
- Round 6, Pick 4 (188)
- Round 6, Pick 13 (197)
- Round 7, Pick 15 (242)
The good news is the Pats are stockpiled with picks. They can make something out of this puppy. It’s a question of if Bill grew a brain over night.
I see two possibilities here for New England. They will either target a quarterback or pass catcher. If one of those top quarterbacks is somehow on the board, pull the trigger. If one of the Alabama receivers drops in their lap, pick one. Will it happen? That remains to be seen. If both of those options are off the board, things get dicey.
I refuse to believe Belichick knows what he’s doing. If he doesn’t get one of those top quarterbacks, panic could easily set it. We’re talking about a guy that picked Jarrett Stidham who anybody with a brain knew didn’t have a lick of ability. Kellen Mond has Patriots written all over him. Oh, it will be hilarious to watch too.
The Patriots roster has improved. Not hard to do after you overspend the way the Patriots did in free agency. This draft is a defining moment for the Belichick regime. Brady got his title without New England. It’s time for Bill to build another winner. This time, the division is incredibly more difficult.
