The Carolina Panthers made their move for Sam Darnold and head into the 2021 NFL Draft with more certainty. Now it’s about building this roster around Darnold and getting ready to gear up towards contention. Matt Rhule and company spent every draft pick on defense a year ago. Will that be the case this year? Let’s dive into the war room!
The formula for the Panthers should now be best player available. It’s no guarantee but the group of three between Kyle Pitts, Penei Sewell, and Ja’Marr Chase has to be in their thought process. Sewell would be perfect for this offense. Carolina has Taylor Moton on the right side who is as good as it gets. Sewell would provide Carolina two dominant bookend tackles. Holy shit… Sam Darnold won’t know what to do with himself with all that time back there!
CORNERS! Donte Jackson needs a side kick. Troy Pride may or may not pan out. That’s about all they got right now. Call me crazy but would the Panthers trade up for a sliding Caleb Farley? The Virginia Tech product just had back surgery and is sliding down the boards. I could see Carolina moving up a few spots or whatever it takes to land someone like this. Farley has great athletic traits and Carolina could be the team that pounces if a slide happens.
The Panthers need offensive line help in general. Trey Smith at Tennessee would be a great gamble in the third round range. Smith has major talent but was held back by injuries. Beefing up this offensive line and adding a corner would be a hell of a draft for the Panthers. A team you should be buying stock in any way on SimBull.
