2021 NFL Draft Stock Report: National Championship

2021 NFL Draft
Alabama won the National Championship after another monster game from DeVonta Smith. But what did we really learn when it comes to the 2021 NFL Draft? (Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports)

We’re finally here. The college football season is over after Alabama defeated Ohio State in the National Championship game. We have one more 2021 NFL Draft Stock report post to go over. Which players impacted their 2021 NFL Draft stock for better or worse?

What did we learn?

To be honest, I didn’t know how to go about this post. Mostly because I’ve seen these teams enough at this point to where nothing I saw last night was surprising.

Justin Fields didn’t put together the best game. It was also clear he wasn’t 100 percent still after taking that big hit from James Skalski last week. If you swapped Fields and Mac Jones, the score of the game is probably the same.

Chris Olave did all of his damage when he wasn’t lined up against Patrick Surtain. My opinion didn’t change here either. Surtain is still a monster and Olave is a player I’m high on.

What did we learn? Nothing really. Najee Harris and DeVonta Smith are NFL guys playing in college. They should have been in the league already.

This is why I have no respect for big time draft people. None of them have a fucking clue what they’re talking about. Harris was my number one running back coming into the season. Harris is the EXACT SAME GUY he was a year ago. If someone tries to pull this narrative please just tell them they’re dumb. What did we learn from Najee last night? Nothing, he’s awesome.

Shaun Wade wanted DeVonta Smith so he got him. Smith proceeded to murder him. What did we learn? Nothing.

Christian Barmore was awesome last night. Dalvin Tomlinson, Jarran Reed, Raekwon Davis, etc. Use whoever you want. Barmore will be a plug and play 3 technique that can rush the passer. What did we learn? Nothing.

Trey Sermon got hurt very early in the game. Master Teague took over. From a body standpoint, he looks like JK Dobbins. He’s not just not close to as good. The burst that Dobbins has in non-existent with Teague. But we already knew that, of course.

So what did we actually learn? Jeremy Ruckert made a nice catch but who cares? That’s the post. See you all when the Senior Bowl kicks off. The mailbag posts will also be coming back.
