2021 NFL Divisional Round: Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints

Saints vs Buccaneers

Saints vs Buccaneers
Will Tom Brady and Drew Brees be facing off for the final time?
Butch Dill/Associated Press

This Sunday we will witness the longest QB battle of all time. Tom Brady vs Drew Brees. As the Saints and Buccaneers face off in the Divisional Round.

Could it be the last time the 40-year-old quarterbacks face off?

Yes, both quarterbacks are still under contract for next year, but there is speculation that Brees may retire.

Point Spread: +/-3

Sunday January 17, 2021- FOX

WHY THE SAINTS WILL WIN!

  1. Drew Brees

The 41-year-old is not as good as he once was, but this year the Saints have been better with Brees under center. This year, he has only played 12 games and Brees has not been healthy for multiple years now. Though when he is on the mark, Brees can still throw the ball. If he doesn’t do well this weekend, the Saints will lose.

2. Alvin Kamara

One of the best running backs in the game. Kamara finished just under 1,000 rushing yards during the regular season. I think Alvin Kamara will be the MVP and will lead the Saints to the Super Bowl this season. Kamara will also lead this team for a long time after Brees.

3. Saints Defense

The Saints defense is not the best or worst in the league, but if they can step up against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, the Saints should not be in the spot they were last year. A year ago, they got screwed.

WHY THE BUCCANEERS WILL WIN???

  1. Tom Brady

Whether you like the guy or not, you have to admit that he is a great Quarterback. If the Buccaneers win this game it will be because of Tom Brady. Tom Brady and the receiving core have struggled at times, but the connections may come alive. Brady will outperform Brees, but I think the Saints will win.

2. The Receiving Core

The Buccaneers receivers have been very streaky this season. If they can expose the Saints defense then the Bucs actually have a really good chance in this game.

3. Defense

At the beginning of the season, the Bucs had the best defense in the league, but now it looks streaky as well. If they can shut down Michael Thomas and the crew, then all the Bucs offense has to do is score. But the game for the Bucs comes down to how good or bad this defense plays.

Saints defeat the Buccaneers 35-28
