2020 NFL Draft
Good luck trying to evaluate Jake Fromm for the 2020 NFL Draft. Does anybody know what he is? More Week 10 notes inside the post. (Dale Zanine/USA TODAY Sports)

Week 10 of the college football season is in the books so we have another 2020 NFL Draft update. It was a rough slate of games this week. I have two games for you this week that I covered. We have NC State At Wake Forest and Georiga Vs. Florida. If have a game you really want me to cover, make sure to reach out. I’m open to suggestions. Let’s get down to business. Here’s who stood out in regards to the 2020 NFL Draft.

NC State At Wake Forest:

I gotta be honest here. I didn’t see much NFL talent on the field. NC State is god awful. Wake Forest blew the doors off the Wolfpack with a 44-10 win. Really I wanted to take the time to focus on one player. That man is Wake Forest quarterback, Jamie Newman. No, I’m not talking about a first round kind of prospect. I think Newman can play and worth getting in your quarterback room. Newman is a dual threat quarterback but when I say duel, I mean he can really throw.

Against NC State, Newman went 25/38 for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also added 2 rushing touchdowns as well. He’s got a little of that Josh Dobbs short arm release to him but it comes out humming. There’s serious zip to the ball Newman throws. That’s what I like about him. This isn’t just a running quarterback. Newman is completing 67 percent of his throws on the season with serious velocity. Just keep him on your radar. He keeps playing like this he should be a late round draft pick.

Georgia Vs. Florida

Let’s start with Georgia. Jake Fromm continues to be the hardest quarterback evaluation in the country. The guy we saw against Florida isn’t a first round pick. Forget about the box score (20-30, 279 yards, 2 touchdowns) Fromm just feels limited. He’s never touched the whole game. Georgia probably has the best offensive line in the SEC by a mile. Andrew Thomas is the first one going off the board in April. He needs D’Andre Swift to carry the offense. Defenses stack the box. Fromm never puts teams away by himself. I don’t see a rocket arm although I do love his mentality. He feels like a winner. There are times he misses wide open balls but at the end of the day, he gets the job done. He makes throws and then you look up and say “hey, how is Jake Fromm’s numbers so good” Good luck trying to stake your claim on how good Jake Fromm will be in the NFL. It feels like there is a lot we still don’t know.

For the record, Florida led the SEC in sacks coming into the game. They left the game with zero. Jonathan Greenard and Jabari Zuniga were shut out. There are a lot of gems on this offensive line for the Bulldogs.

Dan Mullen feels close at Florida. He’s a year away. Give him an upgrade over Kyle Trask and the Gators have something. I’m starting to really fall for this Kyle Pitts. I don’t understand how you cover him? 6-foot-6, 240, blazer at tight end? C’mon, that’s not fair. That’s what Darren Waller looks like. Tight ends are not supposed to move like that. Pitts doesn’t move like a tight end. This guy is going to be a mismatch nightmare. Pitts had 4 catches for 78 yards in this one. Then I realized I wrote all this and forgot he’s a Sophomore. Oh, well, I will have to wait another year.
