Clive Walford
Do yourself a favor, draft Clive Walford. He is one of my fantasy tight end sleepers for 2016 (Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports)

Everyone is looking for that one player who can put their fantasy football team over the top. Often times it ends up being that player you got in a late round that saves the day. When the draft gets late don’t worry about your buddy getting an advantage on you. Earlier I discussed my list of top ten tight end prospects you should consider. Now read here for some fantasy tight end sleepers that could pay dividends for your fantasy team in 2016.

  1. Martellus Bennett (Patriots):

Bennett is being marginally under drafted in fantasy leagues. Why shouldn’t this guy be a top 5 option? Aaron Hernandez absolutely was even though Rob Gronkowski was on the same team. Bennett has proven to be a viable option in Chicago for the past few seasons and now finally has an all pro quarterback on his side.

2. Clive Walford – Ladarius Green:

I like these guys so much that they made my top 10 list. Walford is going to have a big season for what is now a dynamic Raider offense. The same can be said for Green in the Steelers offense who is no longer in the shadow of Antonio Gates. For more on these two guys check out the top ten list here.

3. Jimmy Graham (Seahawks)

Just a couple of years ago this guy was arguably the best in the game. Now it seems like he is somehow toiling away in an imperfect fit in Seattle. The Seahawks are going to throw the ball more this season, especially with the departure of Marshawn Lynch. Graham becomes as good of a bet as any to have a big bounce back season.

4. Austin Seferian-Jenkins (Buccaneers)

I was a big fan of Seferian-Jenkins coming out of college and is a pure pass catching tight end. The problem is he is a complete knucklehead and can’t seem to stay out of the coaches doghouse. The talent and here and Jameis Winston needs him given the lack of other targets on the team.

5. Hunter Henry (Chargers)

Henry was my top rated rookie this year in what is considered a weak tight end class. At Arkansas Henry was not asked to block as he was virtually their best receiver. San Diego ran a ton of two tight end sets a year ago with Ladarius Green so there are targets to be had here. The elder statesman Antonio Gates is also nearing the end of his road and could be a candidate to be plagued by injury.
