Zach Wilson Traded To The Denver Broncos
Zach Wilson looks to get another shot in the NFL, as the New York Jets will trade the quarterback to the Denver Broncos, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The trade will include a 7th-round draft pick to the Broncos, with the Jets receiving a 6th-rounder in return for this year’s draft.
The Broncos add another quarterback to the team after parting ways with Russell Wilson after two seasons with Wilson at the helm of the offense. Russell Wilson went to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The quarterback room for the Broncos currently includes Zach Wilson, Jarrett Stidham, and Ben DiNucci.
Wilson, who will be 25 by the start of the next season, will have appears to one more shot in the league, after being benched multiple times throughout his career.
Wilson did not have a good start to his career in New York. Having thrown for more interceptions than touchdowns. He has thrown for 6293 yards, with 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions……. with his stats being inflated due to Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles.
Once Aaron Rodgers was traded to the Jets, we knew Wilson would be out of New York. It was inevitable. The sad part is that he did not get sent to a better team to be the backup.
While it is a doubt, Zach Wilson could reignite his career in Denver and make all the doubters quiet.
The Broncos currently have the 12th overall pick in this year’s draft. With the more notable QBs most likely gone in the first three picks, the Broncos could select either J.J. McCarthy or Michael Penix Jr. to be the starting guy moving forward.
