Xavier Weaver 2024 NFL Draft Profile

There are so many wide receivers in the 2024 NFL Draft that Xavier Weaver didn’t even get a Combine invite. That’s okay because we’re going to talk about him anyway. There are things to talk about here and Weaver could be a sleeper on draft day. Let’s go over the 2024 NFL Draft Profile for the University of Colorado wide out!

Travis Hunter is a freak but Xavier Weaver was realistically the most trusted weapon that Colorado had last year. Weaver posted 68 receptions for 908 yards and four touchdowns. That’s after spending four years at South Florida. Weaver had over 700 receiving yards for USF in 2022 and 2021.

Weaver, a three star recruit from Orlando, Florida, checks in at 6-foot, 169 (nice). Sure, Weaver is on the smaller side but he brings a lot to the table. He’s awesome once the ball is in his hands and will be able to contribute in the return game. He also has shown a willingness to take hits over the middle of the field. On the whole, Weaver is a pretty underrated route runner and got open a lot last year.

With Colorado, you basically have to throw the second half of the season out the window. They got off to such a hot start but once they ran out of gas and starting losing some of their depth it was over. The offensive line was totally egregious too. Still, Weaver was a big time stand out performer earlier in the season. He’s got some DOG in him.

He wrecked Nebraska. Had another insane game against Colorado State. Early in the season, Weaver was posting some unreal performances when Colorado truly had it rolling. Really nice route runner with strong hands. Maybe not a super burner but has more than enough speed. Guy can play and anybody that watched Colorado last year knows how important this guy was to their team.

Maybe I’m in the minority here but I actually really like the player. He’s totally being slept on. I can’t find anyone that even brings his name up. Would be a consideration for me in the later rounds and would absolutely want him as a priority free agent.
