Winning Time On HBO Max Is Must See TV

If you haven’t seen ‘Winning Time’ On HBO Max, you have made a grave mistake. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of great TV out there right now. I’m just telling you right now. I don’t care what you have to do. Carve out some time to watch Winning Time. You won’t regret it.

Let me just get this part out of the way now. A lot of the actual players from the show have been complaining about how it’s portrayed. I don’t care what they say. This is one of the best shows I have ever seen.

Is it 100% spot on accurate? No, the pick up game between Norm Nixon and Magic Johnson was fake. But who cares? The historical part of it is all accurate and it’s perfectly directed.

Better yet, this show feels like it’s going to be something that continues for at least a handful of seasons. The first season only documented the 1979 season and it’s already been confirmed season two is on the way.

The acting in the show is so damn good. The actor who plays Magic should win all of the awards for playing his role perfectly. John C. Riley nails Dr. Buss. Paul Westhead (Jason Segel), Jerry West (Jason Clarke), and Pat Riley (Adrien Brody) are all captured beautifully.

Just go watch it. You won’t regret it. It’s the best new thing you’re going to find right now on HBO Max. I’ve already watched season one twice. It’s that good. The story writes itself. It’s crazy how much of this stuff actually happened. That’s coming from a Celtics fan…

Side Note: Jerry West has no right to complain. In fact, I think his character actually comes off as loveable.
