Will the Raiders ever learn from their mistakes of the past? It’s time for Mark Davis to look himself in the mirror. (Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports)

Will The Raiders Learn From Lessons Of The Past?

I thought about making this a post about pleading for the GM job of the Raiders. I’m not going to do that. Frankly, based on how these past few years have gone, it’s a little embarrassing on their part they haven’t already called me. The fact of the matter is nobody has been more right about the decisions this franchise has made. It starts with player development and this team stinks at it. Bottom line, end of story.

There is a more important conversation that needs to be had here and it starts with Mark Davis. Are YOU willing to do what it takes to build the next winner in Las Vegas? This team hasn’t won a singular playoff game since 2003. In the last 21 years, this team has made the playoffs twice and lost both. That includes the 2021-22 team that had a negative point differential in the regular season and had no business even making the postseason.

Are YOU (Mark Davis) willing to recognize what went wrong in the past and are YOU willing to make the changes necessary to fix it?

Why did you pass on Jalen Carter? I don’t have an answer for you but anybody that knows talent would never make that mistake. Carter was the best player in the draft and it’s laughable that you took a guy that did nothing at Texas A&M and had to transfer instead.

Are you willing to rebuild this team the correct way? Trading for Davante Adams was so stupid. Not because he’s not a great player, but because you never built the foundation the correct way.

Where is your franchise quarterback?

Where are the blue chip players on the offensive and defensive line?

Where is your foundational leader that can rally the entire organization? Can you find the right leader that can inspire confidence without evidence? That’s a really important piece of this that has been lost. When you trot out Brian Hoyer, it lets the fan base know that you don’t have a plan. That’s the problem.

What is your plan? What do you want your football team to look like? Do you have an organizational identity?

Really this is a message for Mark Davis. If he doesn’t understand these things, it’s going to be more of the same for the Raiders.

Expectations, expectations, expectations. Are you ready to acknowledge what needs to be done here or will it be more mistakes of the past?
